From Dr. Margaret Flowers:

Tuesday, July 28th: Please join us for the kick-off of Artists for Guaranteed Health Care - a multidisciplinary group of artists educating about and advocating for health care as a human right and working to put a human face on health reform! The press conference will be sponsored by the Gesundheit! Institute and Amnesty International. Join us at 9:30 am in front of the Rayburn House Office Building (Independence Ave side) and march into the building with Dr. Patch Adams.

Then join us in Rayburn Room 2226 at 10 am for the press conference and panel discussion. Members of Congress and celebrities will be in attendance. We will kick the new project" Faces of the Uninsured and Underinsured. A film crew from New York will also be present. All are welcome to attend this event. At 11 we will attend a hearing in the Judiciary Committee on bankruptcy (recognizing the profound effect of medical debt on bankruptcy in this country). The press conference invitation is attached.

On Wednesday morning at 11 am, we will present Rep. Sarbanes with a cake in honor of Medicare's Birthday and petitions asking him to co-sponsor HR 676. Please join us outside his office in Towson.

On Wednesday afternoon, we will present a briefing in Congress on the current health legislation moving through the House and Senate. Presenters will include Dr. Len Rodberg and Dr. Margaret Flowers of Physicians for a National Health Program. More info on this will be provided as it becomes available. All are welcome.

On Thursday, we celebrate Medicare's Birthday with a full day of events. Go to www.healthcare-now.org for more information. Hope to see you there!
