URGENT APPEAL FOR VOLUNTEERS

It is Health Justice Week - the week when we remember those who have died because they couldn't get the health care they needed and when we honor those who are suffering because they can't get care. As part of Health Justice Week, we are exhibiting a Flag Memorial on the grounds of the Washington Monument. We are placing flags to remember those who have died this year because they couldn't get care. We started on Sunday morning, and so far it has been a moving experience - the meditation of placing flags and the discussions we have had with those who have stopped by to ask about what we are doing. Many people have shared their stories, signed petitions for single payer and have taken handouts. We will add more flags each day.

We would like to keep this going until Sunday the 27th, but we are required to have somebody on site for 24 hours. Many people have signed up to volunteer, and for that we are grateful. We have a few time slots that still need to be filled. Please consider volunteering, even for an hour or two. The times are below. And please forward this.

TUESDAY, 9/22    6 pm to 12 am
WEDNESDAY, 9/23    12 am to 10 am, 8 pm to 12 am
THURSDAY, 9/24    12 am to 10 am
FRIDAY, 9/24   9 am to 12 pm,  2 pm to 12 am
SATURDAY, 9/25   12 am to 10 am,  12 pm to 12 am
SUNDAY, 9/26    12 am to 8 am   and many volunteers in the afternoon to help with breakdown

Thank you. Onward to Single Payer!
